Why doesn't my hamster use her wooden chew stick?

Buy her a salt lick or mineral block, it can be attached to the cage or left on the floor and is too heavy for a WW to move very far, it's hard enough to keep her teeth in check and it's flavored so she'll like using it, plus she'll get nutrients she needs. As far as the dough thing goes I'd see if you could chop off bits covered in pee, or clean it off, otherwise it's best to get another. Hamster pee can smell pretty bad after a while and will attract all sorts of bacteria.

Try giving her some toys or something to chew on and keep her entertained. Get thick work gloves or garden gloves to handle the momma rat. You could take the whole cage to the bathroom, set mom rat in the tub, take off your gloves and check out the babies. Then put your gloves back on and put the mom rat back.

Okay Lol my son is 5 months. He has been on baby food since was 3 months ( please don't lecture me, he needed to gain some weight.. ) he does great with foods. How will the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act 2011" effect those who have been given the 3 or 10 year bars. Shouldn't they be given the opportunity to return before we give amnesty to those who are here illegally and who had no intention to ever step forward and apply for residency in the U.S.? I feel President Obama should consider all of these folks before moving forward. It only seems fair to do it this way. I would love to be able to pack up and just live in Mexico but considering that I'm over 50 and have been through 5 years of losing everything, I feel I must stay here and do my best to build some type of retirement for us when he gets to return in 2016. It's tough when your lives are passing fast and we can be together to enjoy our younger years. I am not financially equipped to travel to Mexico often as it is. Any advice or recommendation would be helpfu. I really don't want to receive answers...like ... he came illegally and that's all that can be done considering there are millions here illegally who never had the intention to be document. It sounds like rats or mice. Roof Rats love fruits & vegetables too. Insects will not chew through plastic bags like that. A Rat will consume one product till it's full. It will only make one or two holes & eat a slice of bread or damage one potato. A mouse will feed on many things during the night, they do more damage. Either way trapping is the best way to go or hire a profession if you don't want to deal with the traps. I just got a 1 year old chihuahua/dachshund from a friend a few states away. He's remarkably well behaved considering a huge family and climate change, but he whines when he's alone (if I go to the bathroom), strews clothes if we leave, and gnaws on his feet all the time (no fleas or other visible/tactile damage or issue). HELP!! continuing stomach problem!!?

for the last month or so I have been experiencing a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. It comes and goes throughout the day but when it does come it really is uncomfortable. Its hard to explain but it's like a gnawing emptiness at the top of my stomach. Even after i eat i still feel very empty and hungry even after i eat a full meal that would have made me very full before this started. Also, when i press the top of my stomach there is some pain and it also occasionally affects my back. I have been to the doctor last week and he prescribed me with some tablets (Losec) which did take it away but now that the course of tablets has finished, its now back the exact same as it was before the tablets. anyone have any idea what this could be or what could take it away?? like some home remedies or some diet i could take up?

How to teach my raw-fed dog to chew?

It may sound strange, but my 7.4 lb Pom/Chi acts like she doesn't know what to do with large pieces of meat or a bone. Today I bought some organic chicken drumsticks at trader joes just to see if she'd eat poultry and make sure she did ok on it (she hated paw naturaw chicken and turkey patties and did poorly on them) before i ordered the really good stuff from Tropical Traditions. She liked it and her energy has been good, but she won't really chew it herself. I have to cut off tiny pieces at a time for her to eat it. She seems to really want it, barking at me, etc. But when I tried to put the whole thing in her dish she just licked it forever and walked away. I tried teasing her with it, cuting chunks 99% off so she only had to make one bite, etc. She just does not want to bite it or rip a piece off. It's like she's being gentle lol. How do I get her to go to town on it? I want her to gnaw the bone at least enough to clean her teeth. I also brush them daily, but I know bones are best for dental benefits. Why can't I sleep till at least 5?

Nope, not a good idea. And unnecessary. Soak the pan in hot water, scrub a bit with some dish soap, and re-season in the normal way if necessary. If you want to try removing some seasoning that seems to persist in the pan, try adding some lemon juice to the hot water. If you are using the pan to cook highly-seasoned things on a regular basis but also want to use the pan for pancakes and you don't want the pancakes to taste like garlic or to go through all the extra work of cleaning the pan all the time, I'd recommend buying a second cast-iron pan and saving it for unflavoured things. With a little luck you can find one at a thrift store for a good price.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out 4 weeks ago. Last weekend I started having pain in my lower right area. I went to the dentist, and he took an x-ray and said there was inflammation around the end of the root of the 2nd molar. He said it was caused by a cross-bite that developed since I had my wisdom teeth removed, so he ground down the teeth that were hitting each other at an angle so they wouldn't hit each other any more. It has been 48 hours and the pain has not gone away, it is just a constant gnawing pain and my lower right jaw feels swollen and the outside area of the gums around and behind that tooth are sore. When I put pressure on the side of the gums where it hurts, a small amount of reddish liquid comes out from around the gum line around that tooth.

Having raised a pom myself, I think you are okay. My pom loved to play tug of war and growl when she thought she was winning. As far as the biting, you need to (excuse the pun) nip that in the bud NOW! I have found that saying No sternly while pointing at her worked well. Then I would stop playing with her until she calmed down (a minute or two) and always repeat that every time she bites. Consistency is the key. Good Luck!

When ever I come home from work he hisses really loudly and runs towards me. So I have to come home through the back door. When ever I put food out for him I have to be out of the house otherwise he runs towards me and starts biting and scratching me. I've tried locking the door when i go to bed but the door is suddenly covered in scratch marks and my sofa and over things are torn to pieces and one time he came towards me so I quickly picked him up and held him in the air and prevented him from getting me but he just start to go crazy and started to viciously shake, meow and hiss really loudly and continuously kept trying to gnaw at my face whilst biting the crap out of my hands... I'm worried, I have to climb through my window to get to work. That's how bad it is, what should I do?

I need a little guidance in my life?

I'm 18 and very soon to be 19. My whole life I've lived in fantasies. I've spent time pretending to be a high school basketball star, a star athlete, a genius writer. The list goes on. I've always strived to impress, or rather make a strong impression on a group of people who are either ignorant or doubtful of my latent talent. With highschool done, I have no immediate group of peers left to make a strong impression on. Because I'm so slow I can't keep a fast paced job and I lost my only well suited job at a call centre due to my own stupid negligence (lesson learned). I'm slowly watching myself become less of a "child with potential" and growing into a grown man who lives with his parents, has no job or drivers license. I failed my first semester of University and I'm really skeptical that I will do well. For the past few years, I've been stuck in a guitar playing fantasy. It started in high school when I was 15 I received a guitar. I immediately started fantasizing about impressing my high school peers. I became fixated on it, and I deluded myself into thinking that I would "win" and the credits would roll. I would have a "Yo Adrian, I did it!" moment. I'm still stuck in that fantasy, and I'm begin to test the patience of not only my parents and those around me, but myself. I'm self aware enough to know that I probably won't have enough success as a musician to support myself financially. This dream/fantasy, the guitar one I mean, is different. I'm playing shows, and getting infront of audience. However I can't help but feeling like a archetypical loser. I mean, no job, failing university student with some deluded rockstar dream? The crazy part is, I STILL fantasize. I get home from playing a show and I put on music and fantasize about impressing people. But not at a show... at a party with a group of peers who are ignorant and/or doubtful of my abilities! It's crazy, I've already made my shows known to people, and the girls who never paid attention in high school are curious about when the next show is. On the one hand, I'm the guy who's winning over club owners with my songs and lyrics and slowly becoming into the adult I want to be. On the other, I can't hold a job, I have terrible grades, and I'm on my way to being 26 years old and still living with my parents, and STILL fantasizing about showing that hot girl on the bus I can play a mean solo! I never wanted to be the loser guy who "still hasn't given up on the band", but I sadly feel I'm destined to become that. I'm not a "music is my life" kind of guy, in that I dont believe its all or nothing. But I feel like a bad american idol audition waiting to happen. I dont wanna play a show and have no one show up. Or have a friend or a parent say "just give it up". I dont wanna borrow money from an uncle to "buy a van" and "tour the world". I dont wanna be the guy at family reunions everyone feels sorry for. Why does my kitten bite my hand when i'm just petting him?

my kitten seems to think that when im petting him its playtime and he starts biting my hand. The bites used to be simple gnawing but as each day passes his biting is becoming harder. My dog has irritable skin?

its normal, hamsters like to build nests, and just feed her once a day. Completly normal, nothing to worry about. About the chewing, my hamster does the same thing! i gave her toilet paper tubes and she seems to like that, chewing on the bars wont hurt her though, its trimming back her teeth.

What are some ways to keep a dog from chewing on furniture?

Your puppy will only chew the furniture IF he has the opportunity. I strongly recommend you to get a crate for the times you cannot be there to supervise what he's getting into. You can put any number of products on the furniture, some of which might work, but most of which won't, if your puppy is left to his/her own devices. It's a question of 'dog proofing' your home - prevention is always better than cure. I'm a bit confused about whether you have your puppy already ..... "..... are looking into getting a little longhaired Dachshund..." and then ".... sour apple spray (definitely didn't work), but it's a good idea to set your home up before your puppy arrives and that should include having a crate available for the times you are out or doing other things. Just remember - puppies should not be crated for longer than 2 hours at a time, and adults not longer than 4 hours.

Could I have a stomach ulcer?

I'm really freakin out. I have this annoying, gnawing discomfort / somewhat of a pain in my left abs. It was there, and then went away for awhile (maybe a few weeks or a month or more) and is back again. I heard ulcers can have fluctuation periods between pain and no pain. I don't have any other symptoms I don think... I am hungry alot... I fill up pretty fast after eating a bit. I lost a couple pounds but it may be because hi just had my wisdom teeth pulled and i have been eating lighter. I have an appointment with my doctor next Thursday but is prolonging this going to make it worse if it IS an ulcer? What else could it be? Suggestions?

The more I observe, the more I realize that it seems like we are destroying ourselves. The Japanese earthquake and the Alabama tornado...etc. Many of these types of events are occurring more often. Our ozone layer is shrinking, so that causes abrupt weather/temperature changes and natural disasters. And, the carbon dioxide is harmful to us, humans. Pollution from factories and automobiles. And the way how we deal with our trash at daily basis. Not only we are destroying ourselves, we are destroying other living things around us. Ok, sorry if it seems like these are the only kind of questions I ask. :P Anyway, I watched this movie on demand from Comcast once and it was on Fear net. So it was about these teens sending in audition tapes because they wanted to be on some new reality tv show. And they had to say what their worst fear was on the tape. So they get accepted onto the "show" and are taken to this warehouse looking place? I don't remember what it was exactly. But it turns out that there was no tv show (surprise surprise.. lol) and that the killer was going to use their worst fears to kill them. I know that there was a black guy... and there were 2 blonde twins, a boy and a girl. And I remember that the twins worst fear was to see something happen to each other. So the killer strapped them into chairs facing each other with a drills on each side pointing towards their heads. Each twin had a button that when they hit it it would start the drill that's facing them, so that they could die for their sibling if they wanted to. That's basically the only death I remember. BUT! At the end of the movie, one of the girls who survived figured out that the killer was her father... and she locked him in this place and set it on fire, but he escaped and that was the end of the movie. This has been bugging me for legit, 3 years now and it would mean SOOOO much if someone could help me out! But I realize this description is like super long so even if you can't help me, just taking the time to read it would mean a ton. :) Thanks!

Goldfish EMERGENCY!!!!?

It is swim bladder. He needs more peas. Don't feed him algae wafers... He is a goldfish and should eat goldfish flakes. Idk what size tank you have but he needs at least a 20 gallon tank with dual filters. If he survives, a bigger tank is needed. If he doesn't, just buy some smaller schooling fish. Also, try changing 40% of the water without stressing him out too bad. They produce a lot of waste and 20-30% of the water should be changed weekly. It was a nice little fish swimming around happily, eating normally then it jumped out of the tank to the floor. It survived and went back in the tank and swam around more then suddenly fell to the bottom of the tank and stopped breathing. Why did this happen?

What animal leaves v-shaped gnaw marks on bones?

The other day I went hiking, and I found a few bones from a deer (I'm guessing). They looked deer size. I found a vertebrae piece, and I think some leg bones. On the leg bones there were gnaw marks, the bulb part at the end of the bone was chewed off, but along the middle part of the bone there were gnaw marks I never seen before. Okay, visualize the bone laying horizontal, and along the bone's side there were marks that looked exactly like: >>>>>>> And they were close together like that too, they are like sideways v's. I tried to google what could make these markings but found nothing. Any hunters/taphonomists/experts know what could have made these marks?? Ways to cope with depression/anxiety?

For the past few months I been going thru depression and anxiety. Anxiety is usually everyday but my depression if on one day then off another or just parts of the day. Mostly when I'm alone..I have this gnawing fear so I'm always with someone. I don't feel like life is real sometimes and get confused or say things wrong or slow and I'm very forgetful lately. Are those all symptoms of depression?? I keep thinking its my brain going dead or something. I'm on prozac and xanax for a month. Seems to be helping but is there also other ways to cope? Any personal stories?? And I also am tired and want to sleep most of the day but then i can't sleep its so confusing. Lastly for some reason i always start to feel better at night when it gets Dark..anyone experience this?

My hamster is acting really weird lately. Please help!?

So my hamster recently has been acting weird. She has been awake all day, and she usually sleeps all day. Then the other day I noticed her little home room bed thing was upside down. So I flipped it back over. I then watched her flip it back over and bite and gnaw at the inside roof of it. She's managed to make a hole in it from doing it so much. Also, shes kind of still a baby so she is really hyper. So when I hold her she never stops moving. And yesterday I picked her up and she sat in my hand not moving for about five minutes. It was really unlike her. So I started moving her around and switching hands and it did nothing. She still sat still. I'm really worried. I don't know if maybe she's confused or not comfortable. My wife used to be one hot mama. Now that we've been together a while (no kids) she has started to let herself go. She's put on some weight, especially in the face, and doesn't do much with her hair or face anymore. I cant say I fully understand your situation..I have felt depression and a sense of enclosement in a city. But mine is much larger..my parent is often over protective and my dad doesnt live with me, I take care of everybody in my house and I wish to leave as soon as possible..but all I could possibly say is, find faith..it doesnt have to be religious just look at your future goal, envision it, see it, and most importnantly want it more than anything..You cant do much, you're young and you must try to live with what you have until you can leave. Should I be worried about black bears near my property?

i also live in wisconsin, i dont think it is a huge issue having the bears there. As long as your house is locked up tight you should be fine until they move elsewhere. For your apple picking, make sure you can see the bears at all times, and if they start to approach at all, make sure you have a plan of "escape" because the nature is unpredictible. If you start to feel uncomfortable at home or being outside, you could always contact the DNR. Black Bears are afraid of loud noises and typically run, if you are in between their cub, that will not do anything. More than likley tthey will try and get rid of the threat (you). Maybe if it is possible, you could have a DNR worker come and stay when you harvest the apples.

I felt exacty the same way when me cat died. If he's getting arthritic, and not playing very much anymore, it's definently a sign that he's getting old. But who says he can't get old normally? Just let it play out naturally and dont put him down unless the vet says its absolutely necessary. He probably loves you just as much as you love him. It would be mean to take that away from him... I won it all last year. First trading AP was a stupid idea. You could have solved 2 of the above answers just by keeping him, plus boosting your team talent. I had AP I think on my team. Second do NOT go with Ray Rice. Talentwise there are many other RBs in the league like AP and Chris Johnson. Consider it a possibility to get CJ because he shredded the field last year and is a future hall-of-famer. I had AP and CJ as starters and ended up winning most of my games because of them. In the keepers, don't have so many QBs. I did this and it comes back to bite until that is solved. Take Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers out of that equation. It helps there because instead of being spread out in that positon (which hurts your team), you have 2 smashmouth QBs at postion. They don't get hurt often either. RBs, it would be good to get rid of Adrian Foster because with the Texans so good with the pass they won't run as much. with your 3rd and 5th round picks, get Andre Johnson and possibly Peyton Hillis. In this position you have a great WR and same with RB. Best RBs untaken would be Ronnie Brown, great with the Wildcat, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, great with up the middle running. Is my puppy retarded?

All puppies twitch in their sleep -it is part of their REM sleep. He is still very much a baby. He will sleep a lot and not be able to do much by the way of potty training yet. I don't think I would try hard (other than taking him out frequently) for a few weeks yet. Just cuddle him a lot, let him sleep, be sure he is fed often and wait for him to grow up a little. You will need a vet visit very soon for first shots and to be sure he is wormed. If you really don't think he is eating enough, wet down his dog food with puppy milk replacer or try hand feeling scrambled eggs or boneless chooked chicken. You might be amazed at how much progress he makes in a couple of weeks. Two months from now, you will complaining how rowdy he is and how he play bites everything. Hang in there.

Yes take him to the vet. The plate could be coming lose and if the bone is healed correctly they may be able to remove the plate. My dog has a plate in his leg also but the vet told me it wouldn't cause him any problems as he grew but if he ever showed signs of discomfort with that leg to bring him in. For probably a couple weeks, I have not had a normal appetite. The idea of eating anything repulses me and I only eat small things to get rid of hunger pains. i cant remember when i first saw this movie but the girls were aliens or monsters and the seduce guys into having sex and when they have sex or just before the girls would show them who they really are and the would stick like a tube out of there body and stick it down the guys mouth and it would kill them... the one scene i remember is a girl tells a guy what she is and tells him that she will probably kill him and he did care he still wanted to have sex and she does her thing and the protagonist comes in and he knows what the girls are and he trys to save him but its too late... the guy survives for a little bit longer after they had sex but eventually dies... hopefully this helps into determining this movie title

8GB Mp3 Player That Can Take A Beating?

I want at least an 8GB MP3 player that can take a beating. I had an iPod nano 5th gen 16GB before, but when one of my friends knocked it out of my hand, the screen broke, and then I lost it 2 weeks later, and it's been 2 months, and I still don't have an MP3 player. I'd like it to be small, have no screen, I'd be able to fall of a dirt bike at 60 mph and have it survive without any damage, and take a tumble off a ramp on inline skates without a scratch. Something that's as tough as a brick. What could I get? Because all I see now are fragile touch screens, and stuff with a screen. The iPod shuffle would work, if only it had more memory.

Where do you get your info? Most of the GSD's I know are nothing like that at all. They're great family dogs. Granted, if you get them from a puppy mill or a BYB you're taking some chances, but the well bred GSD's are AWSEOME dogs. Easy to train and very versitile.

Okay, so yesterday I just got two new male rats (each 4 months old). I was just checking out their cage and I didn't securely tighten one of the things that blocks the holes. I thought I did... but I didn't. I went to sleep (around 12:30am) and they were both there, but when I woke up this morning they weren't... (around 8:30am). Some are in bad health and can't travel to see him. He does not have any problems... no criminal records, etc. in either country. Since he was returned, I had surgery, lost my job, had a break in and assault, and lost our home to a short sale and had to sell whatever to survive. The US Embassy does not see my life as a hardship and won't give us permission to file the waivers. How will the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act 2011" effect those who have been given the 3 or 10 year bars. Shouldn't they be given the opportunity to return before we give amnesty to those who are here illegally and who had no intention to ever step forward and apply for residency in the U.S.? I feel President Obama should consider all of these folks before moving forward. It only seems fair to do it this way. I would love to be able to pack up and just live in Mexico but considering that I'm over 50 and have been through 5 years of losing everything, I feel I must stay here and do my best to build some type of retirement for us when he gets to return in 2016. It's tough when your lives are passing fast and we can be together to enjoy our younger years. I am not financially equipped to travel to Mexico often as it is. Any advice or recommendation would be helpfu. I really don't want to receive answers...like ... he came illegally and that's all that can be done considering there are millions here illegally who never had the intention to be document. They have both had phenominal years so far. But, I would have to give the edge to Gonzalez. That BA is unbelievable to see. He has a lot more RBIs which means he's getting the runs in as getting on base. He is also not too far off from Bautista's home runs. Bautista has a long way to go RBI wise and BA wise to catch him, two categories Gonzalez is leading this season. I've developed excessive anger?

I tried to create an outlet, I began drawing. But I got mad that I couldn't draw like I wanted, so I threw it all away. I get too aggravated to finish or study for incessant tests at my school... but it's an anger beyond annoyance and it goes into hatred. I counted 9 people today that crossed my mind as people I wanted to kill. Because of their appearance. Hair dye tips and help?

So I'm going to grow my hair down to my knees and might dye it with Stargazer Hair Dye (Tropical Green). It would be new and healthy hair, but if I dyed, which will include bleaching all of it, would that end up me having worse hair than I did before? My hair is thick and I have dyed it with bleach, black, blue, etc. It has survived perfectly fine. But...IF I BLEACH THAT MUCH HAIR WOULD IT BE IN WORSE CONDITION THAN BEFORE? Is it even safe to dye that much hair over having my hair short and bleached? Thank you~!!

Agility woudl be fun and its so cute watching the little dogs do agility courses :) You don't have to compete (our Lab is trained in agility but does it for fun - not for competition). Get some of the agility equipment and set up a course in your yard for the dog to use.

They pecked and gnawed at the waterlogged and decaying flesh, like a starving man, enjoying an ornate holiday meal. The skin swollen, with a blackish blue color to it, and the smell of old pennies or rusting iron. Each peck left a pinkish tear in what was once a warm loving hand that felt pleasure and pain. Now the only feeling that surrounded it was that of the crows and vultures, as their bellies became full of the succulent treat.
